通常瓦楞纸箱印制时采用的印刷材料称为“原纸”,而原纸是一种耐破强度高、耐压高、耐折的材料类型。在生产各类原纸材料时，传统工艺中采用的是木材或草类纤维等制作，而现今的工艺是采用商品木浆、废纸等制作。根据用途的不同，原纸也有多种不同的分类：
Usually, the printing material used in corrugated box printing is called "base paper", and the base paper is a kind of material type with high bursting strength, high pressure resistance and folding resistance. In the production of various kinds of base paper materials, the traditional process is made of wood or grass fiber, while the current process is made of commercial wood pulp and waste paper. Base paper can be classified according to different uses
一、瓦楞原纸。可按我国标准分为A级、B级、C级、D级四种，如今，D级瓦楞原纸已基本被淘汰。
1、 Corrugated base paper. According to China's standards, it can be divided into Grade A, grade B, grade C and grade D. now, grade D corrugated base paper has been basically eliminated.
二、箱板纸。其主要有四种类型：牛皮卡纸、仿牛皮卡纸、白卡纸和再生纸，这四种纸的特点如下：
2、 Cardboard. There are four main types: kraft cardboard, imitation kraft cardboard, white cardboard and recycled paper
（1）、牛皮卡纸
(1) Kraft cardboard
特点：长纤维、重施胶，物理强度高、纸板粗糙；纯木浆或少量OCC.简称：进口牛卡。
Features: long fiber, heavy sizing, high physical strength, rough paperboard; pure wood pulp or a small amount of OCC.
（2）、仿牛皮卡纸。
(2) Imitation kraft cardboard.
特点：表面挂15-25%木浆，其纤维较短、强度较牛卡纸差。纸面平整，不同程度施胶、表面染色处理。
Features: 15-25% wood pulp is hung on the surface, which has shorter fiber and worse strength than Kraft linerboard. The paper surface is smooth, sizing and surface dyeing.
（3）、白卡纸。
(3) White cardboard.
特点：白面牛卡，表面漂白木浆，其余为本色或染色木浆。白板纸（表面漂白木浆、其余为脱墨或不脱墨废纸）；涂布白板纸（白白、灰白）。
Features: white kraft, bleached wood pulp on the surface, the rest are natural or dyed wood pulp. Whiteboard (surface bleached wood pulp, other deinking or non deinking waste paper); Coated Whiteboard (white background, white gray background).
（4）、再生纸。
(4) Recycled paper.
特点：与瓦楞纸不同，表面为11#以上AOCC挂面并经过染色处理。
Features: different from corrugated paper, the surface is AOCC vermicelli of more than 11 × and dyed.
